Sulforaphane found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and cabbage has been associated with the up-regulation of antioxidant and detoxification enzymes in the body. Recent studies revealed an anti-inflammatory response in patients supplementing with sulforaphane. Clinical studies showed increased detoxification of carcinogens, an indirect increase of anti-oxidative cellular potential, and inhibition of inflammation.
