In this interview, Bruce Levy, MD discusses the most interesting research over the last few years, such as the development of mRNA vaccines, growth in cell-based therapies and expansion of interest in resolution biology. Dr. Levy describes the potential link between long COVID and dysregulation of resolution mediators and mechanisms. He further describes cytokine storm in this context. Dr. Levy also discusses the significance of external use of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) in resolving inflammation in some of the chronic conditions such as asthma. Finally, he briefly describes his current research.
Bruce Levy, MD, is Division Chief, Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Levy is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
